San Francisco, Presented in Technicolor

2010 July 20

In a couple of days, it will mark my one year anniversary of living in San Francisco. When I graduated college, I wanted to live/work in one of three cities: SF, NYC or London. Fortunately, I got myself a job in SF and have been here since.

When we settle down, we sometimes forget just how awesome and beautiful our home can be. I’ve found that pretending to be a tourist gives you a new perspective and lets you really appreciate your home town.

I’ve taken quite a few pictures over the past year and here are some of my best. So without further adieu, here’s a little taste of San Francisco:

Near Union Square

Looking down a street near Union Square.

Bay Bridge

The Bay Bridge with a full moon.

Chinatown

Peering into the heart of China Town.

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach, near the west entrance of Golden Gate Park.

Fort Mason

Fort Mason, home of Oktoberfest, Beerfest and any other festival that involves alcohol.

North Beach

Broadway and Columbus, North Beach. A lethal combination of taquerias, strip clubs and bars.

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge near sunset.

Alcatraz

View of Alcatraz from the top of the hill.

View from back porch

Sunset from my back porch.

Another view from the back porch

The porch at night.

And for the photography nerds out there (myself included), the photos were taken with a Nikon D40 using the kit lens and a 35mm 1.8/f. If you liked these, make sure you check out the photos I took at Bay to Breakers.

I must admit, San Francisco is pretty awesome. If you haven’t been, you definitely have to check it out. Hope you enjoyed the photos!

I am so jealous of you for having such an awesome porch. It must be amazing to kick back there, sip a glass of wine and watch the beautiful city.
